Shavonne Miller-Torres

Shavonne is that person who lights up a room, she’s kind hearted and loves harder than most. She loves children and has been blessed with the honor of raising many she calls her own. Never letting her dream go that one day she’ll get to experience having a child of her own. Two weeks ago Shavonne was given less than 48 hours to prepare for a full hysterectomy due to a mass found on her uterus, ending that dream.

December 8th, surgery day: Post-op Shavonne was diagnosed with Stage 3 cancer. She’d begin 5 weeks of radiation treatment after the holidays, followed with 8 months of Chemotherapy.

Since surgery they have found cancer in tissues surrounding her liver and spots on her lungs. Treatments will start before the 30 days needed to heal from surgery, the plan is to be aggressive and get started ASAP.

Shavonne is currently on leave to focus on her health and the bills continue coming. It’s unfortunate she wasn’t given time to prepare but, is anybody ever prepared for something of this severity?
