Shaving my head and supporting Afghan women
I’m shaving my head on Christmas Eve and I’m also raising money for humanitarian support to Afghan women, girls, and families in need, including critical distribution of food and other healthcare goods.
I’m not having a crisis, I’ve actually never felt happier and more free in my whole life. But there are women living in crisis and losing their freedom because of unimaginable injustice and conflict (the tal!ban recently made it illegal for women just to speak to each other)
This year in particular has felt like a war on women. If, like me, you’ve felt overwhelmed and paralysed by the horrors, media and misinformation — while also being very privileged to be able to choose when to disengage — now is a great time to donate and provide support for women and those who need it the most. Especially in the spirit of the giving season. The antidote to feeling powerless in an unjust world is love, human connection and standing together.
Thanks and much love to you all
