Shave it for Shar

Hi, my name is Niamh and with my friends Breda and Vera we are organising a headshave event for our great friend Sharon O'brien

Sharon sadly got diagnosed with breast cancer some months ago and is currently 6 weeks into chemo. Though she is the strongest person I know, it has taken a toll and she has a long road ahead. Sharon has been a huge part of this community for years now, managing the Duiske Inn and entertaining us all. Everytime you enter you'd get a huge welcome and a guaranteed laugh. Sharon is mother to three beautiful daughters, Emily, Ela and Claire and a fabulously loyal and crazy friend to us. So to honor our friend we've decided to shave our heads.

It will be on Sunday 29th June, 2pm at the back of Mick Doyles Pub, Graignamanagh. We hope to have multiple volunteers getting shaved and possibly a few backs and chests to wax! The girls from Ryanhair have donated their time to us on the day so much appreciated. We have dj Colin playing the tunes. We're organising other side activities for the day also such as facepainting, food stalls etc so hopefully it will be a fun day for Sharon, family and friends. We will post regular updates of events and contributers in the coming weeks

We will have collection buckets for the Irish Cancer Society on the day with all those donations going directly to the charity. The donations from the Gofundme campaign will go to Sharon and her family to help her on the road to a speedy recovery and emerge stronger and more vivacious than ever.
