Shauny needs help

My name is Emily, and for almost 7 years I’ve had the honour of owning the best dog in the whole wide world.

My little Shaun, who’s 7th birthday is next weekend on 16 Feb, is the snuggliest most loving dog ever. However, last week his health took a turn for the worst. Unable to stand or sit unassisted, we went to 3 different vets until he was diagnosed with an inner ear infection. Shaun’s always been prone to “normal” ear infections but this one bypassed all normal signs & symptoms.

With some medication he appeared to be getting better, however on Tuesday this week he took a turn again & this time hasn’t been improving.

Shaun had to be rushed to a specialist neurologist this afternoon & has now been admitted overnight for a spinal tap. Best case scenario he has autoimmune meningitis & we can work to cure it with steroids. Worst case scenario he has a brain infection or brain tumour & I might have to say goodbye to the best friend I’ve ever known.

The specialist isn’t cheap & I’m struggling to come up with the funds myself after spending so much on constant vet appts and various testing over the past week. It will cost me $2,800 to pick my little man up tomorrow.. and if he needs further testing that’s also going to be beyond my financial means..
