Shaun's Educational adventure in Ghana

Hello friends, family, and support of the known and unknown. My name Shaun Rooks Jr and I am a 23 year old Young adult who has been blessed with a multitude of opportunities and support to see those opportunities through. Whether the opportunities as a child that had me in church choir embracing courage and bravery or the opportunities that presented as an adult that has put me on the path to graduate from Georgia State University with a Bachelors of Psychology, which is the stepping stone into getting my masters of social work. Getting my education, especially in this climate, has become vital to me and I have been presented to embark on a diverse educational adventure to Ghana, Africa (THE MOTHER LAND!). In Ghana I will be taking, CMIS 4914 - The Art and Transformational Power of Storytelling. This two week course will push me to use my knowledge of past, present and future in order to create an intellectual body of work that will have commentary and impact that will unfold through time. Its 2025 and I know times are rough, one lesson I'm coming to understand is that no one can make it alone and community is how we have survived and how we will survive perilous times. I ask upon my community known and unknown to help me get over my threshold of need in order for me to embark on this journey towards the completion of a well rounded education.
