Support for Shauna, Eli, & Vincent

Vincent Fyfe Malloy is here! Unfortunately, Mama Shauna's health took a big hit and she is in need of around the clock help. Overnights are ESPECIALLY needed, and because of this we are going to hire a postpartum doula who will be able to cover some night shifts to care for Vincent and Shauna until her health improves, when she and Eli are able to handle it themselves. ALL funds raised here will go toward immediate postpartum doula care and other needs for the new family. Please give what you are able- even the smallest amount is extremely helpful toward reaching the goal. Here are Shauna's own words about what is happening:

Hi, friends. I'm writing this to call for more/continued physical help here at the house.  I have to say this is a really hard thing to do (ask for this much help) as I know people have their own busy lives to lead and we're all doing our best. Please know I would NOT be asking people to come into my most vulnerable and intimate time/space if I weren't 100% in need of the help. The first few weeks postpartum are hard for everyone, for sure. And adjusting to the new rhythms of your child is one of the most difficult tasks new parents face. All of that is true. But more than that is going on for me. I am also dealing with a physical problem and my body needs time and support to heal. As many of you know, I struggled with lyme disease and it's friends for many many years. A big part of that struggle was an underlying Epstein-Barr Viral infection. Last year I began a protocol to heal from that and felt better for the first time in my adult life. Following that protocol healed my body, my mind, and my soul. It helped me get pregnant and have a super healthy pregnancy and give birth to a perfectly healthy and beautiful son. But the physical trauma of the birth activated the virus that I had conquered into dormancy and now it is wreaking havoc on my Central Nervous System, especially my Vagus Nerve, as well as my adrenals. This causes me to have symptoms such as loss of appetite, shaking, panic attacks, cold sweats, nervousness, nausea, lack of proper digestion, insomnia, and more. Those physical symptoms added to the normal-but-still-super-hard stress of the new babe PLUS the massive need for extra sleep and calories to be able to nurse is really taking a toll on my body. My support system of health practitioners is incredible and they have me on a strict protocol of supplements, herbs, and dietary needs and THEY ARE WORKING. I trust that I am on the right path and I have seen changes since starting what they've got me on and I know I'm headed in the right direction. I'm rebuilding, for sure, BUT it is going to take time. I spoke with a woman yesterday who went through this same thing and followed mostly the same protocol I'm following now and she got better. It was a ray of hope for me to speak to her and I see that I AM healing, I WILL be ok, and I AM getting through this. BUT she had live-in help for 7WEEKS! I'm telling you, folks, this is the scariest shit I've EVER gone through in my life. The way my body feels is terrifying. I'm working day and night to heal, but we really need help. Right now it's still very hard for me to eat, so I'm eating as much as I can every hour. What that looks like is Eli CONSTANTLY prepping foods and drinks for me while also helping me nurse, change the baby, train helpers, clean, etc, etc, etc. It is simply not sustainable for him to care for the baby and me alone. We've been trying to have him sleep through the nights by having someone here to get me juices and snacks while I nurse through the night. This way, he can handle more during the day, when I need to eat more. I can tell you I sure as shit am hoping we don't need to be doing this for 7 weeks, but I know I need to give my body the time it needs to heal, whatever that means. Please please please, If you have ANY time in the coming weeks to come by and help, do so.
