I have known Shauna since we were 5 years old. I've been lucky to call her my best friend for 32 years. Lucky because not only is she an amazing friend but also an amazing person. Shauna is a full-time working mom to a beautiful little girl and currently pursuing her college degree. She pours her heart and soul into her marriage, family, friends, and especially her daughter.

At just 37 years old, Shauna was diagnosed with breast cancer. She bravely underwent a double mastectomy in March, requiring a leave of absence from work. Shauna is now facing at least 6 months of chemotherapy, followed by continued surgeries well into next year.

I couldn't imagine balancing all of this with everyday life, but Shauna is handling it with grace. She is the strongest woman I know. So strong, in fact, that she would never ask for help. So I'm asking for her.

Shauna is surrounded with love and support from her husband, parents, and family. Unfortunately, the costs associated with having breast cancer are piling up, and insurance will not cover everything.

The financial burden being placed on her and her family right now is just something she shouldn't have to go through on top of everything else.

The goal I have set is to cover the out-of-pocket costs of her chemotherapy treatments, medication, and medical equipment she will need throughout this process, all of which are not covered by insurance. Somehow, she plans to continue working and going to school while getting her treatments. All while still caring for her daughter because, well, she's amazing.

Any and all funds raised will be transferred directly to Shauna, to be used for her required medical care.
