Shauna Robinson's Medical Treatment Fund

Hello Golden,

A Dear Friend of mine and member of our community is in need of our help. Shauna has been a member of the community for over 30 years, moving to Golden when she was a young Teenager. She quickly made it her home where she raised 2 wonderful daughters. Shauna is a very active member in the community, volunteering, coaching and helping anyone or anything in need. Even when shes under the weather others always come first.

As some of you may know Shauna has been battling alot of health problems... recently she found out some of these have become very serious and require immediate attention.

For years now Shauna has been struggling with black mold poisoning from a previous rental. This causes her to have major coughing fits multiple times a day which eventually cause her to throw up. Because it happens so often it is causing damage to her lungs and abdomen. She will require a couple major surgeries in her abdomen in the next couple weeks. Which is thankfully covered by MSP. However these surgeries will have her out of work for 6-8 weeks as well as traveling all over BC for different specialist’s.

Shauna previously had Hodgkin’s lymphoma and through chemo and radiation she has now been cancer free for over 10 years. Unfortunately the radiation caused major damage to her saliva glands and now because of the constant throwing up and the radiation treatment her teeth and gums have been compromised and need immediate attention. The dental appointments and surgeries to fix her mouth is estimated over $8000.

The costs of Dental Surgery, Travel, Accomdations, Medications and Loss of wage for Shauna and Emma because Emma will have to take time off work to take Shauna to her appointments. Is estimated to be over $10,000. 

Unfortunately this is what is keeping Shauna from having herself taken care of. Please Golden is you can help at all I know how much it would relieve so much stress off  this long time local family.
