My name is Shaun Denning.
My wife and I have been married 37 years and have raised 4 beautiful young adult children. I worked for the oil companies in Alaska for 38 years on and off the North Slope. When the market crashed in 2008, I lost my retirement in stocks. Knowing hope was all I had to start over, I took work in Afghanistan for 6 months then Tbilisi, Georgia (Russia), whatever I could to get back on our feet. Then, the great oil price drop last year idled oil workers around the country. I was laid off in the fall of 2014 and have not found work since.
A miracle, however, seemed to appear when I was notified I had won a 5.5 million lottery, but needed to pay $80,000 in insurance fees before receiving the money. I thought I thoroughly vetted it, and even ran it by our bank who helped process the payments. It was a scam, of course, one we and the bank were tied up in to the loss of 47,000.00 . Left devastated and unemployed for 8 months, reality is now a wolf at our front door. Last Saturday, our vehicle was repossessed and, on April 20th, the house we raised our family in will be foreclosed on and auctioned.
We keep applying for employment throughout Alaska, Overseas, and Lower 48, believing in a breakthrough. This disaster has caused grief, loss, embarrassment, and disappointment to my loved ones. The bank requires 12,000 to be current with our mortgage and 5,000 for lawyer fees. Please consider helping us, this is our life evaporating before our eyes....we know, as we've always done, that we will recover and, when we do, we will be repaying anyone's kindness in this extreme time.
We are humble and grateful in writing this letter to save our home, vehicle, the entire life we built over nearly 40 years through God's grace and the generosity of others.
With appreciation and hope,
Shaun M Denning
