Hi, my name is Megan, and I would very much appreciate any financial help that is possible for my cat Mia's medical bills.
Mia was missing for 24 hours before I finally found her after searching for what seemed like forever. I found her meowing and shaking under a chair on the next street over.
When I tried to pick her up she howled in pain. I believe she was hit by a car.
Her pelvis was shattered in 3 places, including the ilium bone. She may have nerve damage that will affect her ability to move her leg properly, but we will not know until after a couple weeks of recovery. If she does have nerve damage, she will have to lose her leg as well, which means another surgery.
The plate that was put in her to stabilize may end up causing discomfort in the long run, which would also mean another surgery to remove it.
She is home now, with her brother and me. I am grateful I had already taken the week off from work to go visit my mom and will be home instead, able to care for her.
I have accumulated $13,000 in medical bills since 2/9 when she was taken in. She spent 4 nights in the hospital plus the surgery.
The scar on her leg in the photo was from an attack 6 months prior by a ferral cat, which I am still paying off on Care Credit.
For those wondering, Mia and her brother Wiley will not be allowed to go outside anymore. Hopefully, as the weather warms up we will be building them some sort of enclosed cat patio to be able to get some fresh air and exercise.
Mia and her brother Wiley mean the world to me, I got them at a time when I was very alone in this world. She is young, about 4, and still has very much life to live.
They have given me so much in the years that I have had them, as a woman without children of her own yet, Mia is my everything.
I very much appreciate any donations that come in, it would very much help to ease the burden of such a traumatic event.
Thank you so much from the bottom of my heart.
