Sharswood-Help Restore Slave Cabin and Cemetery

Donation protected

BLACK HISTORY MONTH 2024
Every February, the U.S. honors the contributions and sacrifices of African Americans who have helped shape the nation. Any donation amount is welcomed and appreciated!

We need your help and generosity to restore the dilapidated slave dwelling and create a memorial for the Enslaved gravesites.
Fredrick Miller, the great-great-grandson of the enslaved Sharswood couple, David and Violet Miller, unknowingly purchased the plantation where his ancestors had been enslaved. Their youngest daughter, Sarah, is our great-grandmother.

Sharswood isn't just a story about the past, this is a story is about people, and those people happen to be our family. We are the Miller Family. Discovering the history of the Miller Plantation, we share this unbelievable story about Sharswood.

With the rehabilitation of the slave dwelling, our mission for Sharswood is that the former tobacco plantation will be a learning experience for the public, especially students doing research.
With your help, we can accomplish this mission. If you work for a company that gives charitable donations, please let them know of this important historical project.
