Sharon's story continues:

Sharon is a 57 yr old Elementary school teacher who suffered a traumatic fall at home on Thanksgiving day with her family in the house. The fall resulted in a severe brain injury which many long term deficits. It has been over 200 days since her fall and she is still not home, transitioning back and forth between hospitals to rehabs. Her recovery has been a marathon with many many more miles to go. We are unaware of what the end outcome will be regarding placement but know there are obstacles coming. Her insurance company is beginning to show signs that they won’t pay for her to stay in the hospital anymore but finding a rehab facility is tough because she still has her trach and feeding tube. All the contributions will go directly to medical expenses to cover the cost of her recovery.
