Sharon's Health: A Fresh Start Needed
Donation protected
Hey family and friends. I am writing on behalf of my mother, Sharon Hugger. As some of you may know, my mom has been staying with me since she was hospitalized in February when she almost lost her life. Since then, she has recovered very well physically, slowly but surely getting her strength back.
Now here’s what you might not know: my mother has been very sick off and on since she got her own apartment in Sheridan 3 years ago. Jeff and I suspected she had a mold issue, so we did our own testing and discovered copious amounts of black mold in the air at my mom’s apartment. We checked the crawl space to find a flooded and deplorable scene filled with mold, and the smell was just atrocious. My mother’s apartment should have been deemed uninhabitable before she even moved in. The managers at the time knew she suffered from COPD and emphysema. The negligence this apartment complex showed while my mother almost died due to complications from the mold is unbelievable. They didn’t fix anything, just put a bandaid on the place. My mother’s belongings are contaminated, and now she cannot return to her apartment by no fault of her own.
We got her and all her items moved into my house and into storage for now. But the good news is she found an apartment closer to me in Forest Grove, and she was approved, but didn’t realize her lack of credit would make her move-in fees that much higher. So I have created this GoFundMe to ask for help, because she does not have the extra $2,000.00 for move-in fees that she needs very quickly in order to move into her own space and have her freedom back. If there is any way you can share this or donate even just a few bucks, it would be greatly appreciated. My mom has had a pretty rough life, and her independence means everything to her while she can still manage to have it. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to send me a message and know we are eternally grateful for any help that can be provided at this time. Thank you for your time and love everyone. ♥️
