My name is Mary Anderson, and I’m organizing this fundraiser on behalf of my dear friend Sharon Alexander and her children, Mia and Nathan.

Sharon is a devoted mother, friend, and caring soul who has always put others before herself. Recently, her life changed in an instant. What began as complications from COVID led to a severe infection in one of her heart valves, resulting in multiple strokes and the need for open-heart surgery.

She is currently intubated and receiving care at CHI Health Nebraska Heart in Lincoln, Nebraska. While Sharon is somewhat responsive, she remains heavily medicated, and the long-term effects of her strokes are still unknown. Her recovery will be long, challenging, and uncertain.

During this time, her young-adult children, Mia and Nathan, are doing their best to stay strong for their mom. However, they face mounting expenses, travel, meals, lost income, and medical-related costs, as they navigate this difficult journey by her side.

This GoFundMe has been created to help ease their financial burden so they can focus on what matters most: supporting Sharon’s healing and recovery. Any amount, no matter how small, will make a meaningful difference.
