Sharon's Battling Bladder Cancer
Donation protected
In January of 2017, after several months of doctors visits and medical tests that yielded more questions than answers, Sharon finally has an answer that no one ever wanted - there was a tumour in her bladder.
The tumour was surgically removed and further testing revealed that she has Stage 4 bladder cancer. The doctor started her on chemotherapy immediately. She will be in chemotherapy for 12 weeks, and will have another surgery to remove her bladder.
We are raising money so that after her treatment is completed, she can afford to get a scan that will check to see if all the cancer is gone. This scan costs $6000.
Having a $6000 medical bill would be difficult to cover for anyone, but in this case there are compounding factors - Sharon has to take 6 months off due to treatment, and since she is single, does not have a partner to help her in her time of need.
This is why we are turning to the community, to her family and friends, to help her in this difficult time. The funds are needed by June of 2017.
Sharon is a strong, beautiful person, who has raised two kind children, and is (the proudest!) grandma to a one- year-old boy. Ensuring that she can get the best care possible, and be around to see her grandbaby grow up means everything to her and her family. We will be so grateful for any help you can give.
