Help Sharon’s family with healing

Sharon is a bright light of love in so many lives. She is kind, grateful and generous, and so expressive of the love she feels for others. Her smile lights up the room. Sharon Hansen married Andrew Yee in 2014 in Cozumel, Mexico where, together with Sharon's three amazing kids: Isabella, Gabby and Nikko, they formed a new family. Anyone who knows them knows they are a family that simply makes the world a better place. Sharon and Andrew have always been the kind of people who have worked behind the scenes to support members of their community. Sharon has volunteered in numerous ways including coaching her daughter’s chapter of Girls on the Run, for several seasons, modeling healthy lifestyles for girls during their tumultuous middle school years. As a room parent, Sharon met the needs of the teachers and students by communicating those needs with parents in a gentle coaxing way. She has been a "go to" volunteer for many school projects for years.

Although Sharon meets every challenge head on, with poise, determination and stamina; this particular one is challenging the whole family.

 

Sharon has Stage 4 breast cancer. She has undergone extensive treatment in Mexico and here in St. Louis, including invasive surgery to remove a growth in her brain. Treatment costs are high and continue to challenge the family's finances. An engineer by trade, Sharon is no longer working and Andrew has suspended his contracting business to care for Sharon, supporting her and transporting her to many medical appointments. Together, they are juggling the schedules and needs of three busy teenagers.
