It is with great sadness and a very heavy heart that we share the news of the passing of our beloved Sharon (Haniyfa) Simmons. Sharon was a mother of two beautiful daughters, Fatiya and Rukaiya Simmons-Stroman, and a dedicated spouse to Bro. Fatiyn Muhammad (Ernest Stroman), a sister and a daughter.

Sharon Simmons lived a long life in battle with Sickle Cell Anemia, SS-type, in and out of the hospital since her diagnosis at 4 years old. On March 26, 2023, Sharon went into the hospital for a routine hospital visit, complaining of pain and discomfort at home. On March 31st, the family received a heart wrenching phone call from the hospital that Sharon had suffered from cardiac arrest and was in the ICU in critical condition.

Sharon fought long and hard for 6 days until she was finally called home on Thursday, April 6, 2023; on the 11 year anniversary of her baby sisters passing.

Her unexpected death has the family at a loss for words. At this time we are raising funds to assist with the funeral arrangements as it is her wish to be buried at “home” in South Carolina, alongside her sister.
