Sharon Meservier - House Fire Recovery
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Andrew Green and my Aunt Sharon in Thunder Bay, Ontario, is suffering from a horrific house fire that occurred Sunday December 8th.
Unfortunately her house was destroyed due to a cigarette that was not properly put out. She was able to escape with her dog, but lost everything else. She is currently in the Emergency Department for smoke inhalation and monitoring. Due to the cause of the fire it is very unlikely that insurance will cover anything. The current goal is to get her into assisted housing as there have been concerns about her mental state.
Many Thunder Bay "East Enders" might know her has the "flyer lady" or the lady that would walk through 5 foot snow drifts to get her scratch tickets and cigarettes from Macs/Circle K. She definitely needed to know everything going on in her neighborhood, but had a good heart.
The money raised will be used to help buy things such as clothing, necessities and food for her. She lost absolutely everything in the fire and we currently believe the house will have to be torn down, so if she is unable to get into assisted living once she is released from the hospital, the money will also be used to find a place for her to live temporarily.
Anyone in Thunder Bay that wishes to donate physical items, can drop them off at the Maier Hardware on Algoma street.
Thank you,
Andrew
