Sharon Mako Memorial/Funeral Fundraising

Donation protected
Sharon Mako is a 16 year old who just graduated from Valley High School and was set to attend college at the College of Southern Nevada (CSN) in fall 2019. She hoped to be a therapist. She came to the United States as a refugee with her mother and 3 other siblings in 2015 from Namibia. Sharon's mother became sick when they just arrived in United States. Her condition could not allow to work. Sharon's mother, as single parent, is struggling very hard to provide to her children's need. Even that, Sharon remained a devoted Christian and was committed to the things of God, and volunteered her free time at church.
Every summer our church held a youth group in which Sharon was happily apart of. We would travel out of town and this year we chose to travel to Laughlin, Nevada. While in Laughlin on the last day of our trip, we all decided to go swimming in the Colorado River at Big Bend Colorado River Recreation Area, something we had done the previous day, however this time around unfortunately was different. Sharon finally decided to swim this time. While in the river Sharon was drifted to the deeper side of the river and started to drown and unfortunately Sharon did not make it.

Sharon leaves behind her mother Esther, little brother Gershom, little sister Meta and older brother Jesse. The funds for this Go Fund Me will be for Sharon’s family as they adjust to life without Sharon, including funeral costs, daily expenses, counseling, and establish a scholarship fund in Sharon Mako’s name.
Besides the funeral costs, extra funds collected will be used to pay for a tombstone for the late Sharon, and all funds raised will be deposited into the bank account of Sharon's direct brother, Jesse Mako, to allow transparency of the management of collected funds, and to insure that Sharon's family can at least identify the location where they rested their beloved one in peace.
