Sharon Grier’s Memorial Fund

It’s with deep sorrow we share that our beloved Sheri Louise Grier-Boyd suddenly passed on the morning of August 18th. She is survived by her pride and joys, Dezmond, Gabriel, and Leah. It had only been a few months since the painful passing of her adult and child-like daughter, Ariel.

We are completely blindsided by the loss of our mother. We thought we had a lifetime of years left with her. As many of you have directly experienced, she exuded an abundance of joy and laughter into the lives and spaces around her. A vibrant and well-known artist, she brought color and life into her pieces. Her art told the stories of pain, beauty, and resilience. She inspired generations to confidently embrace one's heritage and cultural roots.

Sheri was everyone’s friend. One would even say a friend to the friendless. Many of you have reached out and asked how you could help my siblings and me through this difficult time. This an opportunity to sow into what had not been previously prepared for the memorial and true celebration of life for our Momma Bear, sister, friend, cousin, Auntie, and more. All funds collected will go towards expenses for her burial, repass, and medical fees.

A date for her service and repass are to be determined. We will continually update you as soon as we’re able to secure the date and funds to bring Sheri Lou the celebration of life that she deserves.
