Luke and Sharon are a mother and son duo who were both diagnosed with different cancer's within the same 30 days.

Luke was diagnosed with Precursor B-cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia at 10 years old and had a vigorous and vicious battle with Cancer for 2 years. His life was turned upside down with chemotherapy treatments and cold hospital visits that sucked the joy out of his life. The once lively boy spent weeks confined to a hospital bed, his body weak and frail, his hair falling out in clumps until he barely recognized the reflection in the mirror. The constant nausea and fatigue made it hard for him to eat or even smile, and the sterile scent of the hospital became the smell of his childhood.
Blood transfusions, lumbar punctures, and bone marrow biopsies became part of his routine procedures. Additionally, there were brutal side effects on his child body from being inflicted with adult doses of chemotherapy such as Grade 3 Mucositis, intense fatigue, reduced appetite and more. His friends went to school and played outside, while Luke stared out the hospital window, longing for a normal life he could no longer have. The Halloween of 2018 was most memorable to him he remembers watching the news and how other children his age were able to dress up and get candy, meanwhile he was tethered to his bed receiving treatments to cure his debilitating disease. He reached remission, however these events have left him permanently altered mentally despite a strong physical recovery. He lost a normal childhood and the experiences children his age should of had, but it was ripped away from him due to this nasty disease. He now dreams to get top grades in University to become a Lawyer and inspire justice for all.

Sharon, was diagnosed in September 2017 shortly after hearing the news about her son. She still struggles to this day. For 8 years Sharon had to juggle battling her own cancer, recovering from life altering surgeries, support her sick son and hold down a full time job to pay the bills. Sharon has lost and is missing pieces of organs that have left her quality of life permanently altered and disturbed. Her spleen, 20cm of her bowel and half her Pancreas were all removed as her Liposarcoma tumour that weighed in at 10 Kilos, had attached itself to these organs. This cancer has returned 7 times with multiple surgeries and treatments such as radiation therapy and chemotherapy attempting to cure it, to no avail. It is likely Sharon will succumb to this disease and she has already made it past where doctors believed she would. She has however been left in a state of disability where functioning normally in everyday life is very difficult for her. She barely works and has little funds to make ends meet.

The money donated would be put towards improving the quality of life of these 2 resilient individuals. This family has endured more pain and suffering than anyone ever should. For close to a decade both mother and son have fought harrowing battles against two malevolent forms of cancer. These battles have drained them physically, emotionally, and financially. Despite their courage and resilience, the toll has been devastating.

Sharon, after losing important organs and enduring repeated risky surgeries, radiation, and chemotherapy, continues to live with chronic pain and disability. Her ability to work is limited, and she struggles every day just to keep up with living expenses. Luke, though in remission, still bears the emotional scars of a childhood stolen by illness with years spent in hospital rooms instead of in the classroom and with friends. Donations will help them afford ongoing medical costs, essential living expenses, and the support they need to regain some stability and dignity in their lives. Every contribution, no matter how small, will help lift a bit of the unbearable weight they carry and give them hope that kindness and compassion still exist in the world.

Supporting this family means helping two fighters who have already given everything they have, and now who need others to stand beside them. Even just sharing their story would mean the world
Thank you!
