Hello Everyone,
So I was fortunate enough to be accepted into Shakespeare & Company's prestigious Summer Training Institute! I'm so honored to have been given this opportunity and I can't think of anything else I'd rather do this summer than intensively studying Shakespeare for a month straight! My love of Shakespeare began in 6th grade when I read Romeo & Juliet for the first time. My middle school/high school English classes would end the year with a Shakespeare unit and a performance of a scene in front of the class. This was my favorite assignment in school and I would look forward to it all year. Shakespeare was my way into acting and where my love for performing stemmed from.
The first show I acted in was during my senior year of high school when I played Puck in A Midsummer Night's Dream. It was an amazing experience and after that show I decided that I wanted to pursue a life of theater/acting. I truly believe that acting is what I am meant to do in life. It gives me so much joy and nothing else gives me the level of satisfaction that being on stage does. I can't picture myself doing anything else.

Shakespeare & Company is a world renowned theatre company and their methods of training are equally distinguished. Working with this company would be another way to further my Shakespeare and acting training and the perfect opportunity to dive deeper into the works of Shakespeare. Some actors and alumni of Shakespeare & Company include Bill Murray, Courtney B. Vance, Anna Deavere Smith, Keanu Reeves, Richard Dreyfuss etc, all of whom I respect and look up to very much. I would love to be in the same caliber of some of these actors and this summer training is a huge first step on my path to getting there.
The money would be used for tuition and room & board for the summer. I would be extremely grateful for any support in being able to afford to train with Shakespeare & Company! Thank you for helping me follow my dreams!
