My Friend Sharmaine medical and financial crisis

I am setting up this donation to help my wonderful friend, Sharmaine, who has inspired me to be a better person. She is a selfless woman who gives herself to others and never expects anything back. Loss of income is devastating for her; she will not be able to stay in her home without financial help, and she will not be able to afford the copay for her medications, one of the medications is crucial for her to live. I am asking you to please help me help my fantastic friend.

Here she is, in her own words"

"I want to introduce myself. My name is Sharmaine. I am a Senior who recently lost her job after 21 years due to a knee injury.

Due to an accident and loss of income, I will not be able to support myself, my mentally disabled daughter, who needs 24-hour assistance, and my grandson.

The loss of income is going to affect me tremendously. Living on just Social Security when you are in debt is a severe, fearful and painful existence. I am also responsible for my daughter's care, who suffered from a brain injury when she was only 27 years old and needed 24-hour aid.

I have worked all my life helping others. I was a Nurse's Aide in the Bronx. I started as a Cancer Care Technician in the Bronx for a short time, but I could not work there as I had to bring a patient to the morgue. 

After I married, I became a mother to a beautiful little girl. My marriage ended early. But I went on to raise my daughter as a single mother without her father's support.  

I was a Sunday School Teacher, A Girl Scout Leader, and a volunteer in a public elementary school in the Bronx.

Tragedy struck. At 27 years old, my daughter experienced a heart seizure, lost oxygen to her brain, and became permanently disabled with a brain injury ABI. She is under 24-hour care, and I help watch her on weekends. I took guardianship over her 9-year-old grandson. He suffered significant trauma. He has grown up into a fine young man.

I remained at my previous job for 21 years, putting my heart and soul into caring for the children. Feeling and hearing their hurts and pains. To have been able to soothe and comfort them in their time of need has been a God-sent.

In 2021, I took a loan to help a family member and his pregnant girlfriend who lost their apartment and everything!! Now I am faced with living on Social security alone, which will be impossible because of living expenses, my and my daughter's medical and care bills, and I am in debt. 

With the cost of living, medical expenses, paying for my daughter's care and the loan, it will be impossible to live on just Social Security alone.

I am asking anyone to please find it in your heart to help me out of this horrible position. I am in my golden years and truly want peace
