Two people from Pembrokeshire are rowing over 3200 miles across the Atlantic Ocean in January 2026. Our row will consist of a gruelling 40+ days of rowing in a shift pattern of 2 hours on the oars, 2 hours off the oars when we will sleep, eat, complete general maintenance and our ablutions, yep you guessed it, in a bucket! So, why have we decided to take on this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, we hope to raise awareness and money for The Robin Cancer Trust, The MS Society, Megan Starr Foundation and Wales Air Ambulance, all of which have a personal significance to us.
To complete this endeavour, we need to raise enough money to cover the expedition's cost and would like to donate substantial amounts to our chosen charities. If you are going to complete such an extraordinary challenge, at least try and raise as much money as possible for those charities that are dear to us.
We have selected these charities as they are close to our hearts for personal reasons;
The Robin Cancer Trust
"We are the UK's germ cell cancer community. We save lives by:-
Raising awareness – we educate young people on the signs & symptoms of testicular and ovarian cancers through our award-winning digital campaigns and lifesaving educational programmes.
Offering support – we provide free materials to newly diagnosed young people going through treatment, helping to make the most difficult time of their life a little easier.
Connecting our community – we create meaningful connections with survivors through our Ambassador programme, giving a voice to those affected by these rare forms of cancer."

One of Emma's closest friends was sadly diagnosed with ovarian cancer and died at only 52 years old shortly after. Emma has spent the last couple of years fundraising for the Robin Cancer Trust and allows herself to remember the days when Batman (aka Emma) and Robin (aka Liz) were an infamous pair.
The MS Society
The MS Society help to fund ground-breaking research and provides award-winning care & support. MS is one of the most common causes of disability in young adults, it can affect people in many different ways at any time, and there is currently no cure. The work of the MS Society is invaluable to those suffering from MS and their families, helping them to live and cope with the condition on a day-to-day.
Both of us have friends and family with MS and wish to raise as much as possible to help with the research supporting people to live more normal lives and achieve goals once not thought possible.
The Welsh Air Ambulance
"Every day, 24/7, our medics provide emergency air and road cover across Wales to those who face life-threatening illness or injury, providing advanced critical care on scene. Having Consultants and Critical Care Practitioners working on our helicopters and rapid response vehicles means that patients can receive advanced treatments before reaching a hospital.
We also undertake time-critical transfers between hospitals when a patient needs urgent specialist care in a different healthcare facility. This is supported by our dedicated Helicopter Transfer Practitioners.
Thanks to your incredible support our charity attended 3,544 life and limb-threatening emergencies in 2021, taking our overall mission to count at over 41,000 missions since our launch in 2001.
To all our supporters and volunteers, thank you for enabling us to provide this service for the people of Wales.
It’s because of you that we’re able to serve Wales, and save lives."

Megan Starr Foundation
In February 2017, a families life changed irrevocably when their daughter tragically felt she had nowhere to turn and took her own life.
During those dark days, the stark realisation that Megan must have felt utterly alone, with no one to turn to, was almost as painful as the loss itself. This profound realisation sparked a determination, no other young person should have to endure such isolation and pain unsupported. From this resolve, Megan’s Starr was born. Seven years have passed but their mission has never felt more urgent, as the services continue to be a lifeline for those young people in need.
Megan's Starr has since blossomed into a vibrant hub of mental health advocacy and support. In just the last two years, they have provided over 1,400 hours of both peer and professional support to young people. But the services extend beyond these hours. They offer comprehensive workshops, counselling sessions & crisis intervention. The workshops cover a wide range of topics from stress management and mindfulness to life skills and job readiness, all aimed at empowering young people to take control of their mental health and futures.
Also provided is Megan’s Starr Community Coffee House, a welcoming space where young individuals can connect, share their stories, and find a supportive community. They can engage in volunteering opportunities, barista training, food hygiene and upskilling workshops and accreditations, gaining not only professional skills but also confidence and a sense of accomplishment. The community events, from games nights to support groups, foster an environment of understanding and healing.
At Megan's Starr, a unique and nurturing approach has been crafted bridging the critical gap between the immediate need for support and the often-lengthy process of accessing professional services. By offering empathetic, accessible support early, they aim to prevent mental health crises before they escalate.
