Shark Kitty’s Road to Recovery
Donation protected
My wonderful ex-husband has been caring for a feral momma kitty and her babies. Yesterday as he was walking out to his car he found one of the babies had been attacked, we believe a large bird may have tried to carry her off. It appears that she was dropped or fell, part of her right ear tore in the process. but that’s not the worse part, poor baby girl, Shark (as LaLa has named her), sustained a complete detachment of her right leg from her hip, and complex fractures in both legs with a possible spinal injury. Somehow through the pain she’s very much a playful kitty. She pulls herself around and tries to play with our big kitties.
The vet recommended euthanasia, but we just can’t bring ourselves to do that. She’s still full of energy. We are exploring other medical options, we know she possibly has a long road ahead of her and a long road of expensive care costs ahead of us. So far her vet visit was already $335 (I’ll post a photo of that bill and all bills as they come in) with many more bills to come.
I really hate to ask for help, but this is definitely not something we anticipated and we want to give Shark every chance she has to thrive. If you’re able to help, any little bit can help her. Thank you so much.
