This is my sister Shari.  She is one of the most wonderful people I know.  She's a very giving person and will help anyone in need as well as charity organizations without any regard for her financial status.  Unfortunately, her life has been very difficult due to many medical issues. Currently she is almost at the point where she will need to be in a wheelchair the rest of her life due to crippling arthritis which is causing numerous joint problems and deformities.  In addition to that, she has been on disability the last ten years receiving a small income that is keeping her below poverty level.

The doctors say there is a possibilty that they can perform multiple surgeries on both her ankles and feet so that she would not be wheelchair bound the remainder of her life.  The problem is that these surgeries cost between $120,000 -$200,00 and her medical coverage from the disabilty does not cover 20%.  She has tried for years to get a secondary insurance but cannot afford the cost since she can barely cover her monthly bills.  Living below poverty level, she has no way to obtain this surgery because she cannot afford the co-pay of approximately $25,000.

She is quite embarassed when I mentioned to her maybe we can try this site and hopefully people will help.  She would rather suffer the rest of her life than have her hand out but I told her I would try.
