Sharing Our Blessings for Barbara and Bob White
Donation protected
Alicia Rijnders and Rhonda Fisher are organizing this fundraiser on behalf of Barbara and Bob White.
Six years ago, Bob White, a world-known legend and highly respected man in the American Kenpo Karate community, faced the beginning of the fight of his life. Until last year, he defeated several types of cancer. In June of 2022, cancer returned in a different form, with a vengeance. These last 10 months have been filled with trials and tribulations for both Bob and his wife and best friend, Barbara. The two were weary travelers for many many months, until finally, they made the ultimate decision together.
Over the last few days, Bob has decided to transition to hospice care. Although we may see this as a fight he didn’t win; it is not. Cancer may have done its damage to Bob physically, but it did not kill his spirit or lessen his faith. He is at peace with his decision as is Barb and together like they’ve done everything in their marriage, they will be side by side trusting in the Lord, until Bob passes on to the most beautiful peaceful pain-free land, that we left behind, can only dream about.
We are Barb’s coworkers. Like Barb, we are registered nurses. There has been no other champion and advocate like Barb for Bob. We have watched her manage Bob’s health care, fighting for referrals, taking him to doctor appointments, and making sure he has rides to and from appointments and therapies; all while doing a tremendous job case managing our patients. She worked diligently through Covid, sometimes being the one case manager who would come to the unit. We appreciated that so much and we appreciated her support for us. As Bob is heaven-bound, Barb remains by his side, making sure of no more roadblocks for Bob to get home and meet sweet Jesus, his creator.
While Barb and Bob spend their final days together, we would like to give Barb some peace of mind, financially. We are asking for donations of any amount. It’s the least we can do.
