In 2019, I sacrificed everything—my home, car, family, job, and all possessions—to follow what I believed was God's calling for my life. I chose to live off-grid in the woods, in a tent, so I could write my personal testimony about how Jesus had saved me. I didn't panhandle or steal; instead, I worked two days a week for a staffing agency and spent the rest of my time writing at the Valley Mall in Hagerstown, Maryland. For three years, I kept up this lifestyle and completed six full manuscripts, each about 80,000 words. The miracles I experienced during that time kept my faith intact through the hardest moments.
In 2023, I felt God pushing me to stop writing and rejoin society. It was a difficult transition, but after much patience and hard work, I was able to rent a room and rebuild my life. In May 2026, I felt God calling me again, urging me to share my story because the world needs it now. I prayed for wisdom and direction, hoping to answer this calling without having to sacrifice everything a second time. Publishing is not easy, especially with the rise of AI, and it takes both time and money. Returning to the woods to finish my work would be dangerous for my mental health, so I am seeking support to help cover my living and travel expenses while I dedicate 6 to 12 months to completing my manuscript.
Everyone has a unique story filled with both pain and joy. My memories over 45 years have been retained in great detail, which I believe is by God's design. My book isn't meant to force my faith on anyone, but to invite readers to reflect on their own lives and histories. It's a testimony of love, like God and Jesus have for us all. I invite you to support me in sharing this message of hope and love with the world.
