Sharing black lives in Utah
Donation protected
So my baby brother started an amazing photography project a few weeks ago! He wanted to know what he could do to help the Black Lives Matter Movement! He doesn’t have a large following or reach! The way he felt like he could really help was through his photography. He wanted to share the black experience in Utah! So he put out a call in Utah... that if you are an African American, and wanted to have your picture taken to reach out to him and let him know. Along with the photos, he wanted them to share their own experiences, feelings, and stories about living in an predominantly white area. From there his project exploded! He has gotten an amazing response from all those that want to participate. His Facebook post has been shared over 300 times, and his Instagram post has received over 2,000 likes!! Most recently KSL did a beautiful write up about his project on KSL.com. He had no idea his little project would be received so well. He knows he won’t be able to photograph everyone who has reached out, but he plans to take as many photographs/experiences as possible.
When he is done shooting his project his plan is to have some type of gallery showing! So everyone who wants to come, and see the photographs and read each persons experience has a place to do so! He also hopes to compile everything, and possibly put it into a book.
So this GoFundMe is for anyone who wants to donate to this amazing project! Every single penny helps!! Printing the photos, making the frames for each of the photographs...basically making his gallery come to life and all that it entails.
