I’m Linda Cain asking for help for my brother Doug Simmons. Doug is more than a brother,father,and friend, he is a proud US AirForce Vietnam Veteran. I have always stood beside him and am now standing beside him in a fight for his life. About a year ago Doug had a blood clot in his leg that was obstructing blood flow to his ankle and foot. He had to have a stint put in to help the flow saving his limbs. Shortly afterward he had severe stomach pain and had lost 30 pounds in two months. After a 14 day stay in hospital having tests run and biopsies he was diagnosed with Cancer. Aggressive chemo treatments are presently taking place which had left him fighting for his mere existence. Unfortunately this has created not only a medical crisis but a financial crisis as well. His treatments, hospital stays, Dr appointments and special dietary needs have left him with a mounting amount of bills. Unfortunately the VA only covers so much. Daily expenses, rent, food, transportation , and utilities are difficult to maintain when you are so gravely ill. Doug has sacrificed not only for his country and family , he has always been willing to help others. Now he needs help fighting this dreaded disease. Every donation will go directly to helping: Basic living expenses, rent, special dietary needs, travel expenses for treatments and appointments, and medicine as well as medical bills.
