Shari Schmidt Memorial Fund

Shari Schmidt was an amazing baker. We always said she had the "pie crust gene," as no one could get a crust as light and delicious as she. She always had a giving spirit. From the time she spent as a nurse's aid caring for elderly in nursing homes, to sending a large box of holiday cookies for a little taste of home, she always wanted to help. In her seven weeks in the hospital, the staff was immediately taken with her sweetness and her humor. She touched many lives in her short time with us, and will forever remain in our hearts.
As you know, Shari lost her fight with cancer early on Sunday, July 29, 2018. She was only 56 years old and leaves behind a son, daughter, and son-in-law, along with parents and siblings who will miss her deeply.
Many have asked what they can do to help. With heavy hearts, if you are able, we are asking for help with her memorial, cremation and transport back to Illinois. All funds will go to her daughter Lizzy, and any excess will be used to help settle any outstanding expenses Shari had.
If you are unable to contribute financially, please hold Lizzy and Mateo, her children, in your hearts.
