Memorial Day will forever carry an additional meaning for the Duling and Gore families along with anyone who knew and loved Shari. We lost a warrior this week. Monday May 25th Shari suddenly lost her courageous battle with cancer. Anyone who knew her, her husband Chuck, or any of their kids know the impact this loss has on all of them.
First and foremost, this GoFund Me was not set up to ask for anything, the goal listed is just because GoFund Me requires something in that field. We all know that Shari wouldn’t have asked for a dime from anyone, but would have offered the shirt off her back and the food from her own plate to everyone.
This platform is being used as outlet for all of us who knew Shari and are wanting to help the Duling and Gore families anyway we can. Many friends and family members have asked what they can do during this challenging time, and in lieu of meals or flowers this GoFund Me gives a direction for those wanting to help. We set it up as an avenue to offer a way to lighten the load for a family so near and dear to our hearts. All proceeds of this GoFund Me will go to the Duling/Gore Family.
Shari has been “mom” to so many of us, she was a best friend to her co-workers, sisters, and cousins, she was Chuck’s partner in crime and in life and she was the best mom to Stephanie, Jenapher and C.J. She was a safe space, a warm hug, a great laugh, and always a light to many of us during our own struggles. She opened her home, her heart and her life to everyone she met. She was that smiling woman at the grocery store, the patient in your office you became friends with, the mom who took us “kids” under her wing and loved us as her own, and “Grandma Shari” to all her adopted grand kids. She just made everyone feel welcomed, she made everyone feel special, she made everyone feel loved. That’s what she will always be to us. . . a perfect example of love.
Shari was everything light, joy and beauty, a little sass and a lot of fight! She will forever be remembered as the incredible loving warrior she always has been and the legacy she leaves with us will continue to make ripples in this world as long as we live.
