Hello everyone,
My name is Sharell Ireton and I am currently recovering from over a 2 month stay at Emanuel hospital that began June 11th 2022 in Portland, OR. I was diagnosed with some health issues that are chronic and will be longer lasting then we expected. I am currently unable to walk and in a wheelchair, I was released into a hotel to recover August 16th, 2022. I am doing in home healthcare consisting of PT/OT weekly, as well as weekly nurse visits to help with my physical and medical needs. I have about 60 steps I will need to be able to take to get to my front door but at this time I am physically unable. It is not an option for me and I will need all the help to stay longer. The doctors have disagreed with me wanting to go home and it is extremely unsafe to try at this time. I reached out to my property manager to see if there was a lower lever and he said there is not one available. I am looking for a new place ASAP.
I am asking for help in my stay due to my medical insurance only being able to cover so much. I am already receiving medical bills in the mail due to all the testing I had to have done overtime. I have no funds available to cover at this time. I have had to pay for my meds, phone bill, clothes, someone bringing my medicine 1hr away from Portland to me, vitamins, medical, food etc... I will continue to have to come out of pocket over time which is scary. I am worried as a mother to a 3 year old because I am unable to work at this time and with all the care that will begin to pick up next week. I have used all the funds I had saved. Before my sickness I was working at a hotel as a manager + looking for constant work but due to my health issues that is no longer an option for me and I was let go from my job. I am asking for any and all the help from my community and I wish I didn’t need any help and it is taking so much out of me to even write this. Anything will help mainly prayer into a speedy recovery!
