Hey y'all,
We wanted to reach out to all who support us and let you know we feel beyond blessed to be the stewards of Growing Lots at this moment in time! Times like these are exactly why we feel it’s important to be a farm in the city for the city! Agricultural communities have forever thrived off the sort of mutual aid that is essential during trying times. Growing Lots is grounded in this truth and currently we are mobilizing to show up for you all with our farmerly best! We are moving forward on plans we have already set in motion earlier this winter as well as working together with our broader networks to quickly adapt and see this season through!
Presently we are very concerned about the lack of economic resources the most vulnerable people in our community are facing at this time. Our share-a-share program, where we raise funds to give scholarships to cover the costs of CSA shares to those in need, is more important to us now then ever! We’ve set up this go-fund-me to cover the cost of providing 10 full CSA shares to those in need. The scholarships are often sliding scale meaning the recipients usually pitch in. So collectively this fund has the potential to impact more then just 10 recipients!
Our CSA starts in early June. With the lag time of access to these funds through go-fund-me our goal is to have all the donations allocated by May 15th. Only a month and a half away!
Donating to this fund is a solid way to support both your local farm and your neighbors in need! Please do what you can to support this effort and share it widely among your networks. Beyond this campaign we will continue to work creatively with our many community allies in food access to provide assistance!
Love,
Taya, and Seamus
