Why am I asking you to share your love for Cindy? Well, despite the obvious reason that she is an absolutely amazing and beautiful soul, we need to help our beloved Cindy manage some sudden and significant medical expenses.
In October, Cindy experienced severe lower back pain that came out of nowhere. As some of you may know, she headed to her trusted chiropractor thinking it was a pinched nerve. Although the x-ray illustrated a pinched nerve, the imagery revealed a herniated disc, as well. Chiropractic treatments were scheduled three days a week for 4 weeks +. Doctors told her an epidural steroid injection was necessary.
Unfortunately, there would be a slight delay for this shot as the imagery also found a surprise that needed to be addressed first. With the MRI came a report from the radiologist that showed a suspicious formation in her left kidney. So from there, Cindy took her doc’s advice and went to see a nephrologist. He diagnosed Cindy with kidney disease and ordered blood work and a Ct Scan with contrast both oral and IV. These results led to a diagnosis of cystic renal cell carcinoma.
Cindy will be undergoing surgery on Tuesday, December 4th at Loyola Hospital in Chicago to have her kidney removed. The surgery will be laparoscopic robotic, removing the entire kidney “radical nephrectomy” because of where the growth is located at the base of the kidney (about 6.8 cm).
Cindy had to see her primary physician for a medical release exam before surgery and mentioned a slight toothache. Cindy's doctor advised her to see her dentist to ensure there was no infection; Otherwise, surgery would have to be postponed. So she went to the dentist, and what do you know? She has an underlying tooth infection. Our poor Cindy just underwent tooth extractions of 2 rear molars and is on antibiotics and rest until her surgery at Loyola on Dec. 4th.
In the meantime, as if all this weren't enough, Cindy and Scotty’s sweet dog Izzy, who is diabetic, has stopped eating! Yes, the week before her surgery....no food= no insulin meds and has been to the vet 2x for fluids. If Izzy doesn't get back on track quickly, she will be hospitalized, as well.
We are so thankful that Cindy's chiropractor helped her find the growth sooner, rather than later, and we are very hopeful for a speedy recovery. As you can imagine, however, Cindy has been dealing with a 2 month tornado of medical bills.
If you could please share your love for Cindy by donating to this campaign, it would help her immensely. I know how many people love and adore Cindy so I thought it best to start this campaign asap for her. Every little bit helps so if you can't donate much, please don't let that stop you! We sincerely appreciate any amount you can donate, and of course, for keeping Cindy and her family in your thoughts and prayers.
Love & Light,
Lisa
