Hi, we are Stephanie, Lou, and Fiona, authors of “The Great Playventure: Exploring Play-Based Learning Through the Journey of Building a School”, a chapter in the recently published book Risk & Outdoor Play Pt 2.

At present, our chapter is not open access. We would love to make it freely accessible so that anyone interested in play-based learning can benefit from it.

Our chapter documents the real-life journey of a school embracing play, sharing practical, lived examples of what happens when play is taken seriously. It explores how school culture can shift and grow, offering insights, challenges, and successes that educators, families, and communities can learn from.
