Share love and support for Rob Kynaston

Please join us in donating to share our love and support for the Kynaston family as Rob Kynaston has recently and very unexpectedly been diagnosed with throat, tongue, and neck cancer. Your generosity will help the Kynaston family through what is undoubtedly going to be a very difficult journey ahead for Rob with his treatment and recovery.

You cannot miss Rob when he is at Esher and Harlequin Rugby Clubs, or when he is attending events at his son and daughter’s schools (Esher High and Cranmere Primary School, respectively), as Rob is an impressive specimen of a man at 6 ft 9 inches tall with one wicked sense of humour. He is great fun to be around and, despite his imposing stature, is truly a kind and gentle giant.

Rob and Laura Kynaston, along with their son Jay, and daughter, Paige, have been long-standing members of the Esher Rugby community for nearly a decade. They are very much loved by the Esher RFC community, and especially by the U16 team, for which Jay plays second-row. Very proudly, the Kynastons are now also a part of the Harlequin Rugby community as Jay was recently selected to join the Harlequins Player Development Group (PDG), after participating in the Developing Players Programme which finished earlier this year. Jay has remained focused on rugby during these difficult times largely due to Rob’s encouragement and inspiration.

Rob has recently undergone surgery to remove tumours in his throat, neck and jaw. He has shown nothing but bravery and endurance through this time and has even been pitch-side, supporting the Esher U16s, as recently as this past Sunday, 6 March. True to character, Rob always displays a positive outlook about his situation with his wife Laura, with his children and with everyone around him.

This week, Rob has had to have more surgery to remove two tumours from his chest cavity. If confirmed to be cancerous, it will mean that Rob will be diagnosed with stage 4 cancer and a treatment management plan will be put in place which will likely include chemotherapy, raidotherapy and immunology. We hope and pray that Rob’s prognosis is better than this, because Rob already has a long recovery battle ahead of him.

Together, Rob and Laura run a successful child-minding business. But as Rob is self-employed, sick pay during this time is not a possibility. So together, we his friends within the local community, are reaching out to ask for your generosity to help support the Kynaston family whilst Rob is recovering. Please support Rob, Laura, Jay and Paige during this difficult time. Thank you so much, your donation is appreciated more than words can say.
