Share Love & Support w/Ron Whitlock

On the morning of August 21, 2018, 26-year-old Philadelphia native Ronald (Ronnie) Whitlock uncharacteristically called out from work with an unbearable headache. His condition quickly deteriorated after his family called 9-1-1. Ronnie was medevaced to the hospital where he was diagnosed with 2 brain aneurysms, one of which had critically ruptured. Surgeons at Thomas Jefferson Hospital removed part of Ronnie’s skull to prevent his condition from worsening and to save his life. Ruptured brain aneurysms have a 40% fatality rate and Ronnie’s road to recovery will be long and arduous.

Ronnie has been a hard-working team player in the 8 years he has worked at Holt’s Cigar Company in the Warehouse Department where he has taken on a leadership role in recent years. As the primary breadwinner for his family, Ronnie has always been ready and willing to pick up extra shifts and go the extra mile to help out. He is extremely popular and missed by his coworkers.

While his many family and friends pray for his speedy recovery, Ronnie’s long-term prognosis and rehabilitation remain a long and challenging process. A number of basic areas we take for granted have been impacted for Ronnie such as speech, use of motor skills, ability to drive a car, and return to work to provide for his family.
