Hi my name is Annie and I've been riding for a few years. It's changed my life. Horses teach you to trust and learn to be trusted, to be patient and to commit.

Research shows that horseback riding can be therapeutic for all ages.

Sadly, the equine ecosystem is not representative of the world around us. The sport notoriously has excluded many people of color and people of lower socioeconomic backgrounds.

I'm working to change that! As an executive who has worked at the intersection of diversity and business for over a decade, I'm fundraising to set up a summer camp and lessons throughout the year for children who couldn't otherwise afford and haven't been exposed to this magical sport.

I'm partnering with a horse rescue facility to provide this camp. They specialize in education for campers, and do world class rehabilitation for horses rescues from traumatic situations.

My camp is called Camp L'Ouverture, named after Toussaint L'Ouverture, the Haitian revolutionary who was also an avid horseman. Representation matters everywhere.
