Send Young Opera Singer To Europe
Donation protected
Shannon Keegan is an aspiring Operatic Soprano studying at the College-Conservatory of Music at the University of Cincinnati. During her studies, Shannon has developed an intense love for Eastern European classical vocal repertoire--specifically Hungarian music. A trip to Hunagry, Italy, and Germany has been offered by her school where the participants will sing at several international choral and solo festivals. Such an opportunity will provide the exposure to Europe required for the success of any young aspiring classical singer. Such an opportunity will greatly enrich Shannon as an artist, opening several doors to Europe. Shannon hopes to some day continue her studies at the Liszt academy in Budapest.
Note from Shannon:
I am planning on pursuing the research of Hungarian Vocal repertoire in hopes of enriching the classical music world. The trip will allow me to make connections at a highly respected, international conservatory that has produced some of the finest musicians in the history of music. Additionally, I will be able to study the cultures that so highly influence Opera.
For those who are unfamiliar with the opera world, it is very common for a student of opera to choose a country to live in for an extended period of time in order to better understand the music that they are performing as well as gain the knowledge to perform it authentically and genuinely.
Music is such a wonderful thing. It connects everything and transcends all barriers. I am hoping to take the next step towards understanding the unifying power of music. And ultimately, share that knowledge with anyone who will listen.
Videos will be posted
Any contributions would be greatly appreciated!
