Celebrate our Shannon's wishes
Donation protected
I have been staying with Mike and Shannon this last week, and in Shannon's last days I have witnessed the most amazing things in watching Mike caring for her and seeing the depth of his love for her, something I've never seen between two people, ever in my life.
Shan had wishes that Mike wants more than anything to fulfull. Now with her passing, it is weighing so heavily on him. I've seen him struggle and even cry trying to figure out a means to honor her wishes.
We all know that over the past several years, their main focus has been on keeping Shannon as healthy as possible and in end, as comfortable as possible which has prevented them from being able to start working towards fulfilling these wishes.
SHANNON'S WISHES: Shan expressed how much she wanted to be buried at Mt. Vernon in Sacramento,, under the big blue sky, under the trees where wind chimes hang above and make soft music. More importantly, she wants to be there with her daddy and equally important, she wanted to have her "hubby" along side her when it is his time to join her.
Shannon's other wish was to get a college fund set up for her girls, Ani and Keely, something they also couldn't do because of her illness.
The realization of what it is going to take financially, in order to honor her wishes, is overwhelming. There have been so many unexpected costs for her medical care, medicines and home care that are not covered that came in making sure Shan got the best of care that she really deserved. Because the focus has been on the here and now, it just wasn't understood what was ahead. It is an overwhelming realization and the fears that her wishes may not be able to be honored without some kind of help has left Mike heartbroken and distraught. This is the last thing any of us want Mike to have weighing on him, so I am reaching out to everyone in hopes that together we can make this happen for them.
The fund has been linked direclty to Mike and Shan's bank account where all donations direclty go to.
So many of you have been so amazing and generous, having helped so much during this journey, asking for more help is so hard, but I know that without help, honoring her wishes may not be fully possible. So, thank you so very much and bless each one of you for all you have done and are doing for Shan, for them, be it through donations or suporrt and prayers.
