Shannon Spencer(James) Medical Fund

This gofundme campaign was started to help raise money for Shannon Spencer and her family.  Our dear friend, and coworker -  Glasscraft, Inc.'s  Operations Manager needs everyone’s love and support right now on her road to recovery.  She was having medical issues a month ago and was due to have a standard hysterectomy.  After more complications and testing Shannon and her doctors discovered she has Ovarian and spleen Cancer. 4 large masses to be removed immediately including a full hysterectomy, spleenectomy and apendectomy.  This hits hard and she is having her surgery today just one week after discovering this news.  Being the strong person she is, she has such a positive and courageous attitude.  Her quote last week “Tis but a bump in the road of life and we will all be better after!!!” 

Shannon's husband John "Blackey" Spencer has been a functional glassblower for 20+ years and this news has hit him very very hard.  He is asking anyone and everyone  to please send loving positive healing thoughts to his wife.  She is so very important to him and anyone that knows them knows they are a special couple with a unique bond of marriage for 21 years.  He has been by her side completely thru this entire tragic news holding her hand and showing his love and strength as best he knows how.

Obviously, Shannon was caught off-guard financially.  She has a stack of previous medical bills due, A mortgage and she will not be able to work during her recovery.  As most of us do, they live month to month financially. She needs everyone’s prayers, love and optimism right now.  Any donation will help her pay her those medical bills and some of her upcoming Chemo treatments.  Her initial recovery will take 4 to 6 weeks minimum and Chemo can take weeks to months longer.  Let’s all help to support Shannon and John in their time of need.  The glassblowing community has always proven to be strong when working together to help one of their own.  May this continue to be the case.
