Shannon's Overseas Midwifery Placement- ILOILO

In my current year of studying Midwifery, I have been given the opportunity to undertake an elective placement abroad in August. This upcoming August I will be volunteering in local maternity units in ILOILO in the Philippines. I will have the fantastic opportunity of being able to provide care for those from disadvantaged backgrounds and experience the difference in healthcare outside of the NHS. This would provide me with great learning opportunities which I can take onward throughout my degree and career. Unfortunately, choosing to undertake my placement abroad means I must fund everything myself, including the cost of travel, accommodation, vaccines and PPE. This has meant that the cost of this placement overall is quite costly.

I would be incredibly grateful for any donations towards these costs.
