Shannon Strong!!

Dear family & friends,  today we are writing on behalf of Shannon McKeon.  Shannon is married to Kevin McKeon and together they have three beautiful children. Aidan, 13, Colleen, 9, and Teagan, 6. The McKeons are the most active, fun-loving, and caring family there is and would do anything for anyone. Shannon is a Registered Nurse and works tirelessly at Memorial Hospital of Rhode Island and most recently, as a substitute school nurse here in our community of North Attleborough. She is the kindest, strongest, toughest, selfless and most courageous woman we know.  She has a smile a mile wide, exudes happy & positive energy every where she goes and is always there for others on so many levels, and has been throughout her life. She has devoted her time in taking care of her mother, who lives with Ahlzeimer's and most recently, her aunt who suffered a stroke.   We feel so blessed and fortunate to have her in all of our lives. Sadly, three weeks ago, Shannon & Kevin's life was turned upside down. Shannon was diagnosed with Breast Cancer. Shannon will be facing aggressive treatment which will not only impact her physically,  but also financially. At the age of 40, happily married to Kevin and with 3 very active children, she is making decisions no one should ever have to make. She is a warrior as she begins to tackle this beast called Cancer, head on. Shannon is committed to not letting her treatment stop her from being a loving wife, caring and engaged mother and maintaining her active lifestyle all the while keeping that beautiful smile on her face and staying "Shannon Strong." This has been a devastating blow to say the least, but in their own McKeon style, they are THE FIGHTING IRISH and will kick Cancer to the curb! All that being said with great perseverance, asking for help is completely out of their comfort zone, which is where we (family and friends) come in. All of Shannon's strongest efforts have to be accompanied with treatments and procedures, which are costly and not always covered by insurance, not to mention loss of time from work, and traveling expenses.  With the grace of God, Shannon will kick cancer's a$$, but she and her family will need extra financial support to assist with this fight.
