Shannon Watford's Cancer Recovery Fund

In late 2021, at age 52, my brother, Shannon Watford, started experiencing facial pain. After seeing numerous physicians within days, he was diagnosed with throat, head and neck cancer. He has undergone a grueling 35 rounds of radiation and 7 weeks of chemo. In addition to cancer, Shannon had an eye stroke which caused permanent vision loss in his right eye.

Since radiation, Shannon continues to experience debilitating pain and can only eat through a feeding tube. After many specialist visits to determine the cause of the pain, we recently learned there is a mass in his throat.

Shannon will need surgery to remove the mass, possible reconstructive surgery, swallow therapy and extensive dental treatment.

In his teens, Shannon started working in construction. He has worked hard his entire life and never asked anyone for anything. He's a kind soul, always helping friends and strangers alike. Shannon is too proud to ask for help. He is used to being the giver.

My brother has been out of work for seven months due to his cancer. As an independent contractor, he has no health insurance. We have been blessed with some financial assistance from a local cancer support group that has limited funds.

Our family is humbly asking for help with Shannon's care. He is currently living with our mother in Anderson, SC. She is his primary caregiver and is on a limited income.
