I’m reaching out on behalf of my sister-in-law Shannon and her husband Timilai, who are navigating an emotional and challenging chapter in their lives. Their precious daughter, Baby Shia, was born at just 27 weeks—weighing only 1.2 pounds—due to severe preeclampsia and pregnancy complications.

Little Shia is now in the NICU, fighting every day with a strength far greater than her tiny frame. Her journey will be long and delicate, but she is a true warrior.

As Shannon and Timilai devote all their time and love to being by Shia’s side, we’re rallying around them to offer support in any way we can. With Baby Shia’s long NICU journey ahead, there are many practical needs that arise—hospital and medical expenses, travel and temporary housing to stay near the hospital, as well as everyday essentials and unforeseen challenges that come with such a fragile start to life.
