The women of the Delta Kappa Chapter of Chi Omega ask for your help in raising money to support Shannon and her family with medical expenses from a fall she recently suffered. Shannon is a radiant young women, full of life and joy. She is such an incredible asset to our chapter and we want to help in any way we can, here is her story.
"Shannon Harper was at a photoshoot with some friends Tuesday afternoon (May 1st) and without warning fainted or passed out and fell straight back directly on the concrete striking her head first. Luckily friends of her’s named Mia and Jake were there to immediately respond by calling 911. Without their quick actions, there's a fairly good chance we would be without Shannon today. She suffered a severe head fracture along with a subdural hematoma and epidural hematoma a blood clot and other issues. After three cat scans and intense observation it was deemed necessary for emergency surgery to relieve the pressure on her brain immediately. After removing two pieces of the fractured skull some bone and cauterizing some of the blood vessels, the doctors were able to stabilize her condition. She is currently in the neurology ICU unit and will be there for the next few days. Two pieces of the fractured skull had to be removed and cannot be put back right away. The swelling and bruising of the brain dictate possible further sensitivity. We are hoping for a full recovery but even in the best scenario this will take time. So, here's to making the most of a speedy recovery and a healthy future for my lovely daughter Shannon. " -Mark Harper, Father of Shannon Harper
