Hii all, Savanna here!
The time has come, our dear friend Shannon has entered Northwestern Hospital for her 6 week stay while she undergoes a Stem Cell Transplant. If you know Shannon, she has a heart of gold and would never ask for a thing- so I am. It’s our turn to help her as she would go over and beyond for all of us.
Some background:
Shannon was diagnosed with Chronic Myeloid Leukemia in December of 2021 while pregnant with her miracle baby girl, Vivian.
After 3 failed attempts at chemo over the last year and a half, her team of doctors suggest a Stem Cell Transplant. This risky, life altering procedure is the only chance at a CURE for Shannon and her family.
Luckily, her younger brother Aaron was a Match and was able to donate his stem cells to her!
Shannon is a stay at home mom and her husband Neil has been taking FMLA these last few weeks to enjoy the last bit of family time they could before she got admitted. Neil will continue to take at least the next 6 weeks off to care for Vivian while Shannon is away. She will then need a full time care giver for at least the first 100 days after she gets home.
Needless to say, between Neil’s time off, mounting medical bills, travel expenses etc, they could use our help! Truly, any little bit is very appreciated and helps. Please leave your encouraging comments below for Shannon to read while she’s in the hospital, fighting to get safely home and back to her baby girl as soon as she can! ♥️
