On November 25, my sister, Shannon and her 4-year-old daughter Meadow, my niece, endured a horrific automobile collision leaving both mother and child with serious critical injuries. Meadow sustained a traumatic brain injury, C2 fracture of her cervical spine, bilateral pelvic fractures, and a fractured left collarbone. Currently, Shannon is confined to a wheelchair due to her own fractures, yet forgoes her own comfort to be at Meadow’s bedside along with her husband Corey.

Meadow has a long road of daunting rehab ahead of her and this family’s lives have been upended for the unforeseeable future. As with all tragedies such as this, the list of worries grows as each day of missed work passes as well as the mounting hospital bills and ongoing critical care.

Both Meadow and Shannon recall the accident and the horrors of that night. While we cannot remove the pain of those memories, we can help ease the financial worry so that this family can focus on what is most important; healing. That they are both still with us is a blessing. Please help us now to relieve some of the burdens from their already weighted shoulders.
