Shannon Kitrosser

She lived by the principle "be kind to people, you never know what they're going through," and kind she was; to humans, to animals, to the community - to her friends and loved ones especially. A friend of Shannon's so succinctly put into words what we all know to be true, "she had such a sweet soul in that broken heart of hers."

After the loss of her husband Dave in 2019 she began the unenviable journey into widowhood and single parenting. Shannon managed the lives of three beautiful children, a full-time job, two pets, and carrying the weight of her grief. While she wrestled with this monster nobly, grief chipped away at her ever so persistently, eventually manifesting in physical health complications. On February 17th, those health struggles proved to be too much. Shannon Kitrosser left this world at peace, and with family by her side at the age of 46. It is with incalculable sadness that we begin to face the reality of her absence. Her children, Alex (15), Ryan (13), and Hannah (10) are especially dealing with yet another tragic loss.

This gofundme has been set up, not at the family's request, but as a direct result of the outpouring of support from Shannon's community. Many have reached out from near and far in a fervent desire to do something to help those she left behind, especially her children. There are many logistical nightmares to now address, finances being just one on the list as a mountain of paperwork to free up funds begins to grow. If you feel moved to ease this burden, please know that every dollar will be spent towards the care and keeping of the Kitrosser children as they begin to walk into an uncertain future.
